What does diversity, equity, and professional inclusion mean to you?
Diversity, equity, and professional inclusion means that everyone truly has access to opportunity no matter their gender identity, ethnicity, religious background, sexual preference, etc. It means that hard work, integrity, dedication, and commitment are keys to achievement. It means recognizing that a heterogeneous group of people offers the best chance of reaching the best solutions.

How have you experienced and/or dealt with adversity in your professional and personal life?
I have dealt with adversity by always seeking to learn and remaining coachable. In my toughest times, I turn to those close to me including friends, family, mentors, and coaches to seek guidance. In these moments, I have been able to better assess situations and chart a course toward improvement.

What would be one piece of advice you would give to your younger self?
Read. Read. Read. and then Read. My late Mom use to tell me to read all of the time. She would read entire books over a two or three day period on her bus rides to and from downtown Chicago to work from the Westside. I was amazed that the reading gene seemed to bypass me (though I was fortunate to get the math gene from her or my Dad). Now, in my late 30s, I have rediscovered the power of reading beyond what is required in school. I am especially interested in personal development books along with books that discuss wealth creation and economic development, especially from a historical context.

Name three things that you do everyday to help lead you to success.
Read something - Take one step forward on a key project - Rest.

Who inspires your professional ambition? Why?
There is no single person who inspires my professional ambition. I am inspired by the millions of hard-working people in our city and across the country that get up every day to create a better life for their families. When I see people like my Mother who worked two jobs, leaving the house at 6am and returning at 10pm, I am motivated to fulfill the legacy that she started.

What is your favorite book? Or the one you'd recommend most?
Given that debt tends to be one of the biggest impediments to people achieving certain financial goals, I would recommend a very short book called: "The Four Laws of Debt Free Prosperity".

What are the top 3 things you'd like us to know about your business or company?
1) One Stock One Future is on a mission to turn One Million underserved youth into public company shareholders.
2) To date, we have turn over 250 young people ages 8-18 into shareholders.
3) In 2019, we will be seeking individuals to join this mission by helping to run the operations of the organization.

Anything else you'd like to highlight or think we should know?
Thank you for the opportunity to speak. As you'll see in my bio, I wear a few different hats. I can definitely speak about my non-profit work to turn One Million youth into public company shareholders as a longer-term plan to address gender and diversity issues. I can also comment on what I have seen in the world of institutional investing and how public pension plans and others are seeking to do more business with firms owned by minorities and women.
